I feel like I’ve been starting every post as of late with the same phrase, “It been an exceptionally long time!?” LOL.
For better or worse, I’m slowly learning that there is a finite amount of time in a day and I have to ruthlessly prioritize. With all the things circulating in my atmosphere at any given moment the thing that keeps me grounded the most is family. So any moment I get a chance to, I try to celebrate them. For this occasion, the celebration was completely devoted to my wife.
When you think about lifestyle, what better way to capture that than to treat her like a celebrity for a day. I’m from Atlanta, as many of you know, and for as much as people go there expecting to see celebs, the folks truly from there (at least in my circles) know first hand, we are all celebs and we got the sections and bottle service receipts to prove it lol.
Back to my wife… For her birthday I took her on a helicopter tour of SF and linked with my guy Phil Lewis, the illest photographer in the bay to curate a unique experience just for her. I can’t say this was a seamless process, cause lawd knows I took this woman out of her comfort zone with this one.
Things to know:
If you’re gonna take your significant other to do a photoshoot at a helicopter she needs to know about it first. Be cautious about the about of time you will allow the proverbial cat to be out of the bag. They may try to talk you out of it!!
You are not Stallon or Schwarzenegger, therefore the rotators will not be moving in your shots, just know that
Call ahead, it’s ideal that everyone is on board with what’s about to go down before it goes down.
If you are uncomfortable with folks looking/staring at you, this is not the shoot for you (General rule of thumb)
We decided that a simple look was best for this instance. Cause this is regular lol (i hope you catch the tone here). The weather in the bay is has a number in the forecast and how it feels on the ground. Where you land in that is on you lol. All that to say, the forecast said 57°F but on the ground, it felt like a cool 68°F. Jackets had to go!!!
I want you all to know that this only became a post because she enjoyed it, otherwise I would have kept it to IG and left it there.
Overall, this was a great experience with some key lessons learned, and I’m looking forward to more exciting life experiences with my little family.
Have you been on a helicopter? If so, how was your experience? If not, would you?
