The Eye of the Tiger
<

Just when you thought I was gonna throw away my summer wardrobe and go all winter on you, so what I do….hit you with another change up.

If you know like I know we gotta get these fits off one way or another. With that, I present the Tiger Shorts!

Look, gents, the time has long since past for us to stop hiding our kneecaps. We are adults for crying out loud and a progressive wardrobe simply requires you to have at least one pair of shorts that show the definition you have worked tirelessly building on leg day (or not, honestly who cares).

Here’s the gag though… There is still an issue of taper for shorts that has to be discussed. I’ll be candid here and say these shorts are a bit on the risky side. I was told verbatim, “Sir, those could (likely should) be repurposed as underwear!” I’m not tripping though; if you have the confidence for them, rock it anyway. Big picture, you have to consider your leg structure when picking shorts. We are not in school uniforms anymore so no need for the extra space for recess activities.

Lets make your shorts look as smart as your jeans, chinos, slacks, etc. The goal here is to strike a balance; make sure you have enough room to breathe and be comfortable while making sure that they aren’t so long or wide that you are inducted into the Gaucho Pant Club (unless that’s your thing then we are supportive #safespace)

Quick tips about pairing: as a note, this will mostly be personal conjecture, but hear me out… Unless it’s a matching set, I’m a fan of combining prints/patterns with solids as opposed to additional prints and patterns… allow me to bring this a bit closer to home. In this instance, the shorts are a bit much. There are lions, and tigers, and bears Oh My!

(sans the lions and bears lol) Besides, there is shrubbery, and TBH I wanted the shorts to be the focal point so I simplify the rest of the fit to ensure that the standout piece does zackly what I want it to do… STAND OUT! The rest of the pairings are subtle as well. Armani Exchange gold watch with a black face, New Republic tennis shoes (an excellent alternative to Common Projects), and a Giants New Era fitted to top it off.

That’s the fit, but can we talk about this album cover of a view in the background? A fog-laden Sausalito, Ca accompanied by an ocean that is equally calming and taunting. Like geez just toss me in! If you ever get the chance to check out Sausalito, it’s truly beautiful, but bring your coins too cause the median house value in the area is 1.19M (no sweat, yall are ballers!)

To A Life Worth Living,
