You ever notice how dope people generally run in the same circles then you meet them and you’re like, “damn all y’all hella dope” lol. Well, that is precisely the story of meeting this month’s WkendHER. I was chatting with Mariah Mitchell, one of our previous WkendHER features, and after a brief conversation,
making the connection was a no brainer. She’s a dope soul whose personality can only be stated as equal or better than her aesthetic. Oh and she’s a Renaissance woman, masterfully skilled in the art of the grind. Our WkendHER feature for November is the multi-talented Ms. Taylor Snow!
Georgia native, Ms. Snow, attended Kennesaw State University and was super active on and off-campus. A star student, member of Kappa Delta sorority, homecoming queen, and 2014 Miss Black and Gold contender, all while developing an affinity for side hustles. While in college, she started working with a variety of brands and was soon introduced to the Braves entertainment team; from there, the stars aligned. She worked with the Braves for about 3 seasons; that’s where she met Mariah, and the two of them set out on a mission to conquer the world of brand ambassading (Yes, I know this is NOT a word lol).
The Brand Ambassador space is super amorphous; your network and reputation are literally everything. Lucky for Taylor, she’s stunning and super sweet, so the space works perfectly. Over a few years, her connections started to flourish into different brand partnerships, and it ultimately positioned her to rechart her course.
Most people graduate college and struggle to find a job within their degree space. Taylor decided to take the leap of faith and extend her entrepreneurial efforts into her primary revenue stream. As a testament to her hard work, she recently picked up a brand partnership with Victoria Secret PINK for the #PINKGRLPWR campaign
Their primary goal is to encourage women to build confidence and do their thing. Idk how much you know about Victoria Secret, but the rumored back story is pretty interesting. Essentially, a man was having an uncomfortable experience while shopping for underwear for his wife in the mid-late ’70s. As a result, he set out to create a place where men would feel more comfortable shopping for lingerie. Since the company’s founding in 1977,
they have greatly expanded their offerings including scents and of course PINK. PINK arrived in 2002 and was developed to create a point of entry for older teenagers and younger women. The array of offerings at PINK set a market-leading standard for quality and price point. (Their athleisure is 100% Taylor’s steez.)
So I asked Taylor… How does she navigate working 9-5 and living 5-9 fashionably:
“Honestly, for me, especially because I have non-traditional work settings, my work and play are commingled. Generally, I’m pseudo-working but living at the same time. I tend to have trouble separating the two because most of the time I get to see my friends in settings where we are also working. As a general note, I’m not the best with allowing myself down time. As far as fashion, for me, it all depends on the gig. I would probably say I’m most comfortable in athleisure fits. They’re cute, functional, fun, and easy to grab and go. (You know we had to go athleisure when she told us about this).”
Overall, Taylor is shining a light on the fact that there is more than one way of getting to the proverbial bag, and as a testament to the savvy of our generation, she is doing so with a degree in her back pocket. You’ve gotta love a utility player!
Tay Tay, thank you for allowing us to feature you. It’s an honor to have been in the presence of greatness with such a glowing personality. We have no doubts about the success to come and we look forward to continuing to witness your ascent!
To a Life Worth Living,
The Wkender
