Real life question: Have you ever walked into your closet, looked into the abyss, and decided that you have nothing to wear?

Real Answer: My name is Jonathan and I have a problem lol!

I must say though, I don’t believe in stating a problem without providing a potential solution… here is mine.

I’ve really been into camouflage and natural tones lately (foreshadow) and I hadn’t touched my BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) blouse in years. So I wondered, how could I piece this together in a way that’s appropriate for the snow.

I paired the sweater with the blouse for multiple reasons:

Layering is great for cold weather.

Layering is an age-old trick for beating the cold. From a fashion perspective, layering expands your wardrobe exponentially and creates an opportunity for you to insert your creativity. Changing one piece in a layered outfit can virtually create a new look, but be careful because you can also break a look with the wrong piece.

Earth tones go great with camo, and camo is in!

Think this a bit of a no-brainer, so I won’t explain further.

Turtlenecks are back and this turtleneck has POLO embroidered so, you know its Lit!

This is exciting news! I dreaded the thought of anyone ever seeing childhood photos, especially after the 12hour comedy central roast session on my Instagram page (See Post from December 13th, 2016), but I must say with the return of the turtleneck I can rest easier. The turtleneck is a power player in your wardrobe. You can dress it up with a suit. Dress it down with jeans. It’s classy and clean.

Clothes are never just clothes, and in this case, I was feeling patriotic.

I paired the BDU blouse, which was created for versatility, with a vintage Ralph Lauren Polo sweater. An authentic military blouse with an American flag sweater by a multi-billion dollar American brand is a match made in heaven. Ralph Lauren is known for quality and their pieces truly do last a lifetime.

I wanted to stretch my norms.

I find that in most situations I’m a simple, clean, chic kinda guy mostly because it’s simple and I’m always on the go. When I have time to think about what I’m going to wear and tear up my apartment in the process, I can get more creative. Although my apartment will be in shambles when I’m done, I usually come out with a gem of a fit.

My thoughts are simple if you were considering throwing away that staple piece in your closet I hope this makes you reconsider, unless it’s a tall-t, if it’s that… throw it away! I have owned this sweater long enough for turtlenecks to go out of style and finally come back in, and it’s truly a testament to the fact that fashion is cyclical.
