As we kick off Black History Month, I think its imperative that I promote black businesses, and how dare I promote black businesses outside of my city when I have a wealth of them right here at home.

Old Atlanta!

When I say you are the talk of the town!

I wear this hat in almost every city that I’m in. It’s a staple in my wardrobe and it truly is a representation of where I come from. The Old Atlanta: The Atlanta of Young Bloodz and Goodie Mob. Where OutKast reigned as kings and Lil Sammie’s “I Like it” is a classic. The Atlanta where the Underground was coveted and Box Chevies were the Porsches of the hood. Finally, the place where the after-hours spot is a billion $ business.

I paired this hat with a long line olive bomber, Black-t, Black jeans, and the Last Shot 14’s for a streetwear look that’s meant to hurt feelings.

A few notes about the fit:

This fit is great for 50-60 degree weather:

The jacket is multipurpose and can withstand rain and slightly cooler temperatures. The design is unique in that the most bombers are waist cut and this is longline. I love the ¾ length feel. It’s original design was not intended to be reversible, but if you are edgy enough you could potentially flip it and wear the orange interior as the external-facing shell. In simplest terms, “The Jacket is DOPE!”

You can never go wrong with Olive:

Olive is the new khaki it literally goes with almost everything. I love fatigue as a pattern and the more I experiment with it the more I seem to expose its versatility (Foreshadow). Also, green is my favorite color, I’m a Pisces, and my birthday is St Patrick’s Day (shrugs).

The “Last Shot“ 14s are a sneaker head’s dream:

For those of you who wear sneakers religiously, you know the significance of the shoe. For those who don’t, the “Last Shot” 14s are the sneakers that Michael Jordan was wearing on June 14, 1998, when he hit the game-winning jumper to secure the Chicago Bulls their sixth NBA championship. Also, It was the last shot Jordan ever took for the Bulls. This version of the shoe is from 2011 and has been hiding out in my closet virtually ever since.

As a millennial, it’s important to be versatile and to be able to walk in the many settings that our lives require. Be the chameleon and embrace your versatility!
