Remember when I said the cadence would change, maybe even be a bit unpredictable… Well, the time has come lol, in case you haven’t noticed.
Simply put, welcome to the world Mr. Kairo Maaz Jackson.
Lots of changes are necessary as I step into fatherhood, the first being sleepless nights and making accommodations for a little person.
Not sure if you knew this but sports cars are the best for newborns, news to me… So his very first pre-birthday gift was a brand new car. We are clearly starting-off on the right foot; this guy is gonna be spoiled.
With all that said, these last few weeks have been a complete whirlwind, but I wouldn’t change a single second. Here are some highlights:
-Healthy, happy baby
-Sleepless nights (no such thing as sleep when training a newborn)
-Bottle roulette
-Pupe Fiasco (see what I did there lol)
-Unsolicited smiles and giggles
-Cuddle overload
-A full camera roll prepped to share with all of his friends
A month in and I can truly say there is no better feeling than this. In the very next breath, there is no amount of conversation or reading you can do to prepare you for the responsibility of cultivating life. The truth is there are too many variables to write a user manual. You have to be attentive and learn the little person that you’re raising because you are a solid 18-24 months away from decipherable speech patterns.
How does all of this tie into fashion, well… with major lifestyle changes, there are often time restrictions, especially at the outset. In the past, I have always pushed for a dress how you feel model. The reality is it’s a luxury to do that. When you have a newborn, one of the most valuable and constricted assets is time, so you have to pivot to a meticulous planning strategy.
I hadn’t laid out my clothes, aside from interviews, in a decade. Not the case anymore and with that said, my revised recommendation is that in conjunction with considering the occasion go for ease & stylish comfort. The operative question, how can I look decent and do it in 10mins lol? Et Viola, the Dad Fit!
