You ever meet someone, and as the old folks say, they are just cloaked with a spirit of humility? I thought I had but then I met this month’s WkendHER. She reset the bar. Beautiful, humble, killing the game, and full of life… I present Ms. Jasmine Milan Murray.

Everyone I meet in the marketing and PR space has quite the uncharacteristic path to greatness. Jasmine is not an exception in this regard. She entered the branding industry as a brand ambassador and event coordinator for the lifestyle brand, Ciroc Vodka, at only 19 years old (Power Play #1). While establishing her brand as Your Most Dependable PR Girl, she was working on brands and large projects including The African Americans on the Move Book Club, Inc. (AAMBC) Literary Awards hosted by Cynthia Bailey, the 2016 ONE Musicfest headlined by Ice Cube and The Dungeon Family, corporate sponsored events in partnership with brands like MCM, Hennessy and Moet, and many red carpet awards shows (Power Plays 2-7 but we will call it #2).

After being in PR for over 7 years, Jasmine founded JMPR Public Relations and Event Management Agency, a full service agency specializing in catapulting exceptional entertainment, sports, and lifestyle clientele in 2017 (The Big Kahuna – Power Play #3). JMPR’s mission was to elevate brands through the public and connect media to news worthy talent. As a result of building relationships and providing a high quality service, Jasmine has had the

pleasure of working with an array of diverse talent. Her roster of clients includes but is not limited to: stars of WAGS Atlanta on E! Entertainment; stars of Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta on WeTv; stars of the ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ documentary; Jayda Cheaves (otherwise known as Amour Jayda); songwriter and R&B + pop sensation, Darius Coleman; Jordan Moore of the Denver Broncos, and an endless number of beauty, fashion, sports, and lifestyle clients.

In the words of the great philosiphizer Clifford Harris, “Life is like a chess move, and you better make your next move your best move.” Jasmine has done just that by rebranding JMPR to Milan360. We are excited to see where the next phase takes her as she aims to put the brand first and attract an even broader array of clientele.

We’ve focused a lot on Jasmine as a business woman, I mean she’s talented and deserves her shine in any business conversation, but Jasmine is more than a PR mogul. She’s grounded and passionate about making an impact on the community. “All my success is because of God,” says Jasmine, “whenever I am ready to elevate, God has listened to my prayer and answered it in no time.”

Blessed with a platform, she sought opportunities to bolster her passion project, ‘Cupcakes and Convos’. This serves as a space for her to mentor and educate people around sexual abuse and suicide prevention. In addition, she is also passionate about teaching young, upcoming industry hopefuls about the PR industry.

She is currently finishing her first children’s book, “My Little Publicist,” that teaches young girls and boys about what it is like to be a publicist. Jasmine believes in lifting as you climb and hopes to continue to be an example to those around her by sharing her story of building a brand and business on your own at a young age.

Her advice to all young creatives is to find your ‘why.’ Whatever motivates you, whatever you truly enjoy, whatever you can’t go a day without doing – do it.

PR is a very image based industry. I’ve worked with a number of clients who may have only given me the time of day because of how I handled myself. In an industry operating at the intersection of virtually every other profession, two of the critical points that we focus on are image and optics.

They are more important in PR than any other industry. Whether you’re working behind the scenes or in front of a camera on red carpets all day long, your image is your full brand, and people only take you as seriously as you take yourself. You should show people that you mean business, and I aim to do so each time my feet touch the ground!

It was truly a pleasure shooting with you Jasmine. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of calling you our WkendHER!

As always… To A Life Worth Living.

The Wkender!
