I don’t wanna grow up; Imma grown ahh kid… (if you know the rest, you’re a real one)!
Long story short, the re-introduction of scooters into my life has been a blessing on wheels literally.
You see the way the summer and parking are set-up, I need to not struggle. I’m gonna bounce around a bit, but here we go!
Summer heat:
I love warmer temps for a lot of reasons. It means shorts and t-shirts can come out, and the freshly washed and waxed car is king of the block. What I hate about summer is how offensive the sun can be with this heat. There is no amount of clothes that you can take off to get unhot (that’s not a word I know) lol. Have you ever played double dutch with shade,
like jump in the sun and jump back into the lesser degree heat of the shade from an awning or a tree? (I would say cool of the shade, but in a lot of instances, it’s still hot there smh). Which brings me to my first point, a great way to add some airflow to your life and attempt to beat the heat is to hop on my personal favorite… a Lime Scooter. It’s fast, fun, and efficient.
Hypothetical situation:
I’ve lived in a couple of big cities, and one that holds true regardless of coast, culture, creed, or color is everyone is dissatisfied with traffic and subsequently everyone is dissatisfied with parking!
I mean we talk about fashion at the Wkender, so let’s bring it into scope. You’ve curated the perfect fit out of pieces in your closet. It has all the key elements to make it a dynamic look. It’s muted in all of the right ways, but loud and popish in all the others. There are patterns and colors that all co-mingle nicely, but there is one catch… The shoes that would go best with the look are uncomfortable. You have three options…
Sacrifice for fashion, wear the shoes anyway
Be comfortably dissatisfied with your fit
Go shopping (We wont be exploring this option on today’s episode lol)
I’m no statistician, but I would wager that there are a large population of people that are taking option 1 and pushing through the pain. To those kindred spirits, we all know about that step count lol.
Here is the cheat code… If you’re in a major city, most will have scooters available. Download the app, if your outfit matches, pull up in front of the spot with the scooter and park it like a Bentley. If not, park around the corner and tread lightly lol.
Ok enough of my shenanigans! Here’s the real:
These Gap 9” shorts are the bomb.com. Got them on sale for about $15 and you will see them in multiple variations throughout the summer.
The Ralph Lauren Men’s Classic Fit Performance Polo has a little thicker than dry-fit texture but still allows for stretch. It’s super breathable and extra comfy. If I had 4 thumbs, I’d give it 4 thumbs up!
Classic Balenciaga’s – Need I say more…
Simple fit; no need to reinvent the wheel. Say it with me, simple Is good!
