The Resurgence of Cool
<

There is almost nothing that says spring more than the resurfacing of the light tan suit. Some would try to call this Khaki, I assure you it’s light tan (cc BRICKS – for those gucci mane fanatics… if you know you know). This Ralph Lauren ultraflex suit is ultra breathable and perfect for warmer temps. I guess we can call this a foreshadow as we are still in this awkward transition period where one day it’s warm and sunny and the following we could easily argue Winter Is Coming so you have to be ready for anything.

If you are planning to try and rock this suit, step one is to check the weather. If you sweat a lot, this suit will work for you in the spring, but the summer will be a bit testy as this particular color will show any and all blemishes. Typically I reserve this look for temps below 70. If we get to far into the 80s and I cant remove the jacket I know that I will be in for a rude awakening.

So now that we have talked about all of the concerns…. Here is why you need this suit in your closet. This color and cut are super versatile.

There are very few colors that don’t pair well with tan. As you are likely aware, I’m all about subtle chic. Simple solids with a complex shirt or complex suits with a simple shirt for the win. In this instance I went with a simple multi-stripe shirt. The light blue and red stripes add a subtle flare to the solid suit and the look overall. The question remains, how does this all come together so seamlessly….

So hues, tan is in the brown color family and if we are talking about a classic men’s wardrobe, there are 5 suits that every man should have in his closet. One of them is brown, (can you guess the others?) but I would argue that the tan can, and rightfully should, supplant the brown suit in this list due to its versatility assuming you have the weather and complexion to pull it off.

If you’re at all interested in wearing brighter colors (i.e. pastels of of any shade) this is the suit for you. This suit will provide low contrasts and won’t overpower neutral features. What’s even more dope is that this suit easily switches from business to pleasure with a quick change of the shirt and shoes. I think a crisp white shirt and a nice pair of canvas sneakers (with no show socks) would do the trick. Whats most important is that you can buy this entire look at K&G Fashion Superstore, for under $300 with the shoes included… Come shop with me, ill show you around.
