Welcome back to The Wkender!

I know this is evident, but it is now May 1st and I’m talking about an APRIL Female Feature.

Please forgive the delay. I wanted to make sure that the content was curated perfectly, also the weather wouldn’t cooperate so I didn’t have a choice. With the vision clear and location set, I had to do this shoot in a very specific way!

In addition to my apology, I wanted to provide additional context for the female features as it has been a continual point of discussion for people asking about the blog. My thought process is this…in life, there are many men who have the wherewithal to do things solely because it is their desire. From the perspective of a male, in many instances, the reason for an action is in some way connected to a woman. This thought ignited the desire to do a Female Feature.

With that, I present to you Ms. Diamond Alexy Miller our April Female Feature!

Diamond is a soon to be dual-degree graduate of Georgia State University. With an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and a Masters in Public Health with a focus in Health Promotion and Behavior.

Along with being captivating, she is prepared to save the world by making an impact on public health one issue at a time. Her next adventure will be in D.C. working with the Truth Campaign. If you’re looking for a new mover/shaker, I strongly encourage you to engage with her!

We have earned our stripes! With the weather in Atlanta being as fickle as it has been for the last 2-3 months it was time to break out looks for warmer temperatures, whether the weather cooperated or not! SO strips were the choice…

Her Look:

She is rocking Fashionova head to ankle and doing it well! She went with a top that would mesh well with any look be it jeans, a skirt, casual pants, or dare I say dress pants in the right environment. The pant though… huge stripes, fitted in the right areas, and fully flowing throughout. The cut is everything and the print only further adds to the appeal. And the shoes, the shoes were the perfect nude heels which you don’t get to see in their full glory but, trust me I’m a stylist, they were popping. I totally approve this look.

This is great for a night on the town, going on a date with your significant other, or brunch. EITHER WAY, YOU’RE LIT!!!!

My Look:

I’m so easily inspired by my surroundings and what I may be ingesting from a cinematic perspective. A few weeks back I stumbled across the Great Gatsby remake with DiCaprio and decided I had to do a shoot in the Light Khaki Sear Sucker! From a distance, the suit looks cream, but I’ll say it as I have before, The devil is in the details. I was able to find a floral tie that had a pop of blue, and although it may be counter-intuitive, brown and blue compliment each other very well. Additionally, the khaki is a light enough tan color that my light olive loafers blend for a look that looks like I walked right out of heaven.

Location:

If you haven’t been to the Westside Provisions District in Atlanta, there are several gems there. To name a few:

-Jeni’s Ice Cream

-JCT Kitchen

I hope that we are able to open the doors of exploration for you and as always…
